Accordingly, FIR U/S 363 RPC was registered in PS Budgam and search for the accused person was launched. After putting in strenuous efforts police party got important clues that led to tracing of accused person along with the kidnapped girl at Bannihal railway station within 24 hours. Srinagar: At least eight people were killed and 16 injured in a suicide attack on the Bethel Memorial Methodist Church on Quetta’s Zarghoon Road in Pakisran on Sunday afternoon, Balochistan’s Inspector General (IG) Moazzam Ansari and Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed to the DawnNews. All casualties were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta. Hospital sources said they had initially received four bodies and around 20 injured, including women and children. Three of the injured passed away while undergoing treatment for their injuries. At least two suicide attackers had struck the Bethel Memorial Church while service was ongoing. Srinagar, Dec 17 (GNS): A sumo driver hailing from Thandipora village of Kupwara district in north Kashmir who was killed allegedly in army firing was today laid to rest amid sobs and tears as thousands turned up for his funeral in his native village. The sumo driver namely Asif Iqbal was killed allegedly in an ambush last night after he was coming out of his house to take a patient to hospital, family and locals had told news agency GNS. SSP Kupwara, Shamsheer Hussain had also confirmed the killing of the sumo driver in army firing but termed it a case of “mistaken identity”. According to GNS, police handed over the body of the slain to his family today early morning after completing all medico-legal formalities. Srinagar Dec 17 ::Clashes erupted in Batpora village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday after the killing of a driver in army firing. Asif Iqbal, a driver by profession, was injured in firing by army personnel during an ambush at Thandipora area of Kupwara last night, a police official said, according to PTI news agency. He said the forces had laid an ambush in the area following intelligence inputs about the movement of militants. Iqbal was rushed to a hospital at Kralpora where from he was referred to a hospital here, but he succumbed on the way, the official said. Reports said that hundreds of people stopped the ambulance carrying the body of the deceased at Batpora, a village adjoining Thandipora, and staged massive protesters. Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir DGP S P Vaid Saturday said 2018 would be less troublesome as the situation in the Valley was fast limping back to normal. He said ‘Operation all-out’, an offensive launched by the forces to flush out militants, would continue till there was complete peace in the state. New Delhi: In its strongest action yet, the UIDAI has temporarily barred Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank from conducting Aadhaar-based SIM verification of mobile customers using e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) process as well as e-KYC of payments bank clients. The action follows allegations of Bharti Airtel using the Aadhaar-eKYC based SIM verification process to open payments bank accounts of its subscribers without their ‘informed consent’. UIDAI also took strong objection to allegations that such payments bank accounts are being linked to receive LPG subsidy. UIDAI, in an interim order, “suspended e-KYC licence key of Bharti Airtel Ltd and Airtel Payment Bank Ltd with immediate effect,” sources with direct knowledge of the development said. Police sources told news agency GNS that army had laid an ambush at Thandipora village of Kralpora in Kupwara after they had received an input about the movement of militants.
